KATHY RANDELS

Kathy Randels, the Artistic Director of ArtSpot Productions, is a native of New Orleans. She is a performer, director and teacher who works locally in New Orleans, nationally and internationally. Her piece about women and violence Rage Within/Without was seen at the Ko Festival in 2002. Other original performance pieces include Rumours of War; The End and Back Again, My Friend; Lower 9 Stories and How to be a Man in the 21st Century. Her work has been seen throughout the U.S. and in Bulgaria, Denmark, New Zealand, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia and Yugoslavia. Since 1997 she has been an Artistic Associate of Dah Teatar from Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In November 2002, she toured the U.S. with Maps of Forbidden Remembrance, Dah Teatar's latest performance, a collaboration with 7 Stages Theatre in Atlanta.

Randels will be co-teaching a workshop on Biographical Theater July 11-16, and performing in the OBIE Award-winning NITA & ZITA from July 15-17.
