JUSTIN TOWNSEND

Justin Townsend, winner of the 2006 USITT Rising Star Award, is a scenic, lighting sound and projection designer and theater maker based in Brooklyn and Boston. He is a co-founder of the collaborative theater ensemble TENT, which creates performance based, visual work. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts theatre program, he holds an MFA from Cal Arts in design. He has also trained with the SITI company in both LA and Saratoga Springs as a performer. Recent work includes work with Brooke O'Hara of Two-Headed Calf, Nancy Keystone of Critical Mass in LA, Lear Debessonet of Stillpoint Productions, Ralph Pena with MA-YI, Playmakers Rep, the ART Institute, Hartford Stage, the Intiman Theatre, and Portland Center Stage.
